Access into martial arts for people with a disability
ATSK have been actively involved and promoting disability groups to access the benefits of taking part in karate and martial arts.
Whether the disability is around movement, sensory or a learning difficulty, access to an ATSK club is possible, as all people are welcome within the mainstream clubs.
We have worked in partnership with disability schools, agencies and organisations such as:
Bedford & District Cerebral Palsy Society
North Bedfordshire & Kempston School Partnerships
Bedford Mencap Playscheme
Adult Multi Activity Club Bedford for people with Learning & Physical Disabilities
Sportzone
All people involved in karate with ATSK are treated as an individual and we aim to break down the elitist perceptions that take place in many martial arts clubs.
We believe that benefit, include self confidence and fitness along with many others, are available to all and inclusive to everyone.
Training the mind and body is an individual process for all to work on, with the mind and body that we have.
